About St Ives
Shanty Shout
St Ives Shanty Shout started in 2016 with a small handful of groups singing in The Castle Inn. This proved to be very popular and is now an annual event.
Hosted by Bamaluz Bootleggers, the St Ives Shanty Group with sponsorship from local businesses we've had over 20 groups, including Kimber's Men travelling down from Yorkshire, singing at multiple venues in the town.
In 2019 we raised £2353.01 for the Cornish charity Penhaligon’s Friends.
In 2018 we raised £1627.78 towards the Cornwall Air Ambulance - New Heli appeal.
In 2017 we raised £1830 for 2 charities, the RNLI and Children’s Hospice South West.
Due to Covid-19 the 5th Shout was postponed until 2021.
Can we give a huge thank you to everyone who put money in the buckets.

Our 2021 Venues
Finger's crossed everything will go to plan with our venues for 2021: Castle Inn, Golden Lion, Pilchard Press, Beer and Bird, Bier Huis Grand Cafe, The Western Hotel and The Sloop (Saturday only)
We are cautiously optimistic that this will take place as planned but this is subject to last minute change.
We plan that entry to all the venues will be free so show your support by drinking their beer while you listen to Shanty groups with a diverse range of sizes and styles. Whether you like your singers dressed in Civvies, as Sailors or even Pirates there should be something special for you.
